does look warm. 21 napa, 21 santa rosa, and everyone is really close here. that is impressive. we do have a little him the at 7 miles per hour, there has been a slight offshore breeze and 10 below, there is some brutally cold temperatures up in the lake counties as well and that cold snap and freeze warning is lingering and things should start to improve. in turn it allow is the lows to come up a little bit. unfortunately we can definitely use it and that's not happening. cold morning, sunny, highs today, upper 40s for many, low 50s and warmer temperatures will be affected by vallejo, antioch, upper 40s and 52 in alameda and berkeley. 51 san jose, 49 morgan hill, menlo park, very low 50s including 52 in san francisco. if you think it is cold hear, it is brutally cold in lake tahoe and the he can tended outlook, maybe some extended highs saturday and sunday. >>> many believe the federal reserve will end the reserve program and they will announce it during the third quarter and 30% expect it to happen during the second quarter and they are buying bonds to help keep interest rates low.

in santa rosa. 29 for napa. 30 for fairfield. 31 for livermore. 34 mountain view. san francisco 42. san jose down to 34. the entire bay area except for san francisco shaded in red behind me. that's a freeze warning for tomorrow night, thursday morning, the coldest night we have had since after christmas last year. that's coming up. here's the reason why we are getting cold. we have switched air masses. we are on the south side of this front yesterday. mild. now on the north side of it and we are just seeing that arctic air just spilling in behind that front. we'll get cold and stay cold for a while. and there's another little wrinkle moving in. we have a shower chance on friday and saturday being carried down by the jet stream. tomorrow night 3 to 5 degrees colder and the chill is going to be with us well into next week. look at these highs tomorrow t livermore not 50. san jose 51. palo alto 50. rohnert park 49. and cloverdale 51 degrees. here's your extended forecast. thursday, upper 40s. that's it. couple of showers, friday and saturday. snow level down to 2,000 feet. and we will stay

and it continues this morning, 22 degrees in santa rosa, 23 in napa. i think we'll see a lot of plant damage in much of the north bay valley. looking at 20s and 30s elsewhere, even 29 degrees in san jose, that's pretty amazing so freeze warnings are up until 9:00 this morning, then it looks like the temperatures will start to moderate a little bit and then i think one more night of some freezing temperatures and then maybe just maybe we'll start to catch a break as we head in toward wednesday. meantime though highs in the afternoon going to be running in the 40s and the 50s so still a chilly day ahead. we'll see about 48 degrees in livermore, 47 in concord, and about 52 in san jose. chilly temperatures by day, freezing by night. kpix5 kit doe checking out icy road conditions right now. he's live in orinda. kit? >> reporter: hi there. yes, live in orinda where the chp is warning of black ice on highway 24 near fish ranch road. this is going eastbound on highway 24 towards orinda. the far right tunnel in the far right lane. i think we have video of this. look carefully here, it is black ice an

freezing in napa. 39 degrees currently in oakland. we just have a couple of degrees above freezing. if you think today is cold but until tomorrow. the temperatures will drop into the low 20s. i will not be surprised if we break some records. it has not been at this code in quite some time. everyone is at risk to drop below freezing. the protected valleys could see readings at 22 to 23 degrees. san francisco will remain in the 40's. the national weather service may extend the freeze warning. that is something that we will continue to monitor. upper 40's for--plenty of sunshine in concord pripet 50 degrees for san mattel and hayward. >> we will continue with a frosted freezing conditions for tomorrow and may be cooler. cold mornings are on tap for the rest of the week. the likelihood for showers for friday into saturday pripet we do have snow slated for the sierra nevada. the snow levels will drop. we may see several inches of snow. this is certainly good nils for people who ski. we will be dry as we head into sunday. cold mornings here in the bay but the afternoon high will be back into the
